The journey to authentic self...
I received my Masters from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado; a university founded by a Buddhist monk who wanted to bring the divine to everyday. My course work was a mix of Eastern and Western thought with mindfulness at the core. My focus is on helping you get in touch with your authentic self, the part of you that moves from a place of knowing and feels unshakeable. There is an orchestra of voices in your head who are trying to help you make decisions, but they are not all helpful. I want to help you find that small voice at the back that is sharing your inner wisdom and is often just a little too quiet to hear. I bring compassion, nonjudgement, sarcasm, and a bit of swearing with me in session. I am bringing my authentic self to support you finding your authentic self. The work may include working through trauma, changing perspective, altering the way you speak to yourself (your best friend wouldn't be your friend very long if you spoke to them the way you speak to yourself), occasionally speaking to a chair, trying to figure out how to communicate effectively in conflict, and sorting through your inner voices to find your true voice. I will be caring and supportive, and not afraid to hold your feet to the occasional fire. I think laughter is as important to healing as crying, and both are equally welcome in our time together. I know healing is a tough journey, and I am here to support you on that journey.
I enjoy working with couples, it's really a passion. Below, you get a flavor for what I have skills working with and supporting. I want to highlight that I am sex and kink positive are important to me. I work with the LGBTQIA identities as well as the spectrum of gender expression or identity. I work with poly relationships and can help you build the construct if this is a brave new frontier you want to experience. And, because there is never a box to check for this, I am video game positive. I know that there many significant positives to video game playing, so bring your excitement about your latest conquest into session if you need someone to share your celebration.
